What is Spiritual Warfare?

• Battle Against the Spiritual Forces of Evil

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

• A Battle Over Our Minds and Hearts

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

What is NOT Spiritual Warfare?

• Everyday Challenges & Disagreements

But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. James 1:14

• Conflict with People

How to Identify Spiritual Warfare

• Check the Source

• Consider the Fruit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

• Seek God’s Guidance

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

Engaging in Spiritual Warfare Correctly

• Pray with Authority

Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19

• Stand on the Word of God

and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God Ephesians 6:17

• Walk in Faith & Obedience

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

When we are submitted to God, we are empowered to resist the devil, and he must flee from us.
